Marlborough Dyslexia Assessments
Empowering Your Journey Beyond the Diagnosis
About:
Dyslexia assessments for children, teenagers and adults in Marlborough and surrounding areas, Wiltshire.
If you are having difficulties with reading, spelling, writing, organisation, attention etc., you may have dyslexia. I’m Flora, and I am a dyslexia assessor based in Ramsbury, near Marlborough.

Empowering Your Journey Beyond the Diagnosis
Receiving a dyslexia assessment is about far more than just a label; it is the first step towards unlocking a clearer understanding of how your mind works. Many people I have worked with describe the assessment process as a "lightbulb moment" that replaces years of frustration with clarity and an explanation for difficulties that they have been having.
However, the true value of your assessment lies in the diagnostic report itself. This document is not meant to sit in a drawer—it is a powerful tool designed to help you advocate for yourself or your child. Whether you are navigating the education system, seeking workplace adjustments, or simply looking for targeted strategies to manage daily tasks, your report provides the evidence-based roadmap you need to secure the right support.
Access Formal Support
Secure Exam Access Arrangements (subject to JCQ regulations), Disabled Students' Allowance (DSA), or Workplace Adjustments.
Tailor Learning
Implement specific interventions that play to your cognitive strengths with evidence-based recommendations.
Build Confidence
Transition from feeling 'stuck' to feeling equipped with a professional strategy for success.
I can also give you recommendations for onward referral, such as for suspected ADHD, Autism, visual difficulties, speech and language difficulties, coordination difficulties etc.

After the Assessment
Once the session is complete, I will analyse the results to produce your comprehensive report. This detailed document will interpret all the scores and, most importantly, provide a list of tailored recommendations for home, school, or the workplace. I will send you the report (via email) within ten working days, and arrange a phone or video call to go through the results.

Common Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
It's completely natural to feel a bit of "test anxiety" before an assessment. These questions are designed to help you feel prepared and at ease.
Preparing for the Day: A Quick Checklist
-
Confirm the appointment time and location (all details in your confirmation email).
-
Talk about the assessment as a way to find "learning strengths" rather than "problems."
-
Complete the pre-assessment questionnaire (I will send this to you beforehand) so I have the necessary background history.
-
Get a teacher at school or college (if applicable) to complete the school questionnaire, which I also need before the assessment
-
Get an eye test if you have not had one within the last two years.
-
Bring a snack and a drink!
